To the best of my knowledge, Resler makes them for everyone. Svet at ModLight has worked with Rolf for years

I had no idea one could keep the car data such as range etc. I would love to get one of these but none of the stereo stores around me sells them, and I don't have the time to install myself.

Any ideas on how to find someone who can install? I am in San Diego. 2001 3.0 w/widescreen.

I just installed the latest version of the iBus App 2.1.1 and it appears to be running fine.

They have added coding for LED tail lights (not sure what that will do but I have LEDs so I activated it)

Here is the link to the iBus hardware interface

Resler IBUS Interface

The "license" to open up the features is sold separately

https://shop.ibus-app.de/en/shop/

The latest version of the App is here

http://ibus-app.de/ccount/click.php?id=download

Enjoy,

Mike

When you say you have a "2001 3.0 w/widescreen" are you meaning you have the factory stereo/NAV system? If so, you already have access to the range data etc.

Also, the iBus device being discussed here requires an Android application, which cannot be run on the factory setup.

Would having the iBus interface make the modLights2 obsolete?

Yes and no. I think the head unit coding options will cover most of what the ModLight2 did but maybe not everything. I would look at the options you have in your android head unit and compare them with the ModLight2 options. I already removed my ModLight2 in anticipation of my Avin Avant 3 coming soon.

The Official Anybrand Android Radio setup thread.

I see that the iBus has mirror folding which is what I really wanted but couldn't see the depht of the type of folding options it offers on the iBus.

For example modlight2 allows me to remotely fold them only if I press the button 2x, as I don't want them to constantly open and close when I lock and unlock.

Edit:
I don't have neither just seeing what my options are before I order everything at once.

Yeah I would prefer the long press to fold the mirrors like my E46. Seems as though the android should do that too but I wont know until I get mine setup.

Going to read past threads....I'm really loving the whole 10" screen but I do like some hard buttons like volume at the minimum.

Headunit in the E53 is only really used for Spotify BT audio, Waze audio and phone usage.
Don't even use the Navi on the headunit at all.
It's all about Waze
When it's being used in areas driven unknown, Carplay is use to see the exact street/map for visual turn by turn.

Don't think I'll do ugrade the HU but these recent post with the 10" pr0n. Size matters

Here's the latest iBus App version running on my Eonon Android head unit

https://www.ibus-app.de/index_en.html

I absolutely love this app for enabling Android owners to recover the BC functionality and the mild light coding that the App offers
