Because of this there used to be only two options available. Option 1 was to relocate the dash mounted parts of the stock system to the trunk and/or glove compartment, info about how to do this can be found here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1553862.

The second option was to bypass the factory amp altogether and install an aftermarket amp. This option is desirable if you want to upgrade your sound at the same time that you upgrade your head unit.

If you have a different brand of head unit, it WILL NOT work with the DSP system and you will need to do one of the options explained above."

They say that Dynavin N6 and N7 are the ONLY models which will work with DSP

Keep in mind the Dynavin is a proprietary closed operating system. No adding any custom apps if that's important to you. And yes, at $700, a little pricey...

I’ve ordered a Bluetooth module to plug in AUX. let’s see if a27$ will solve the problem of music streaming and that’s going to be it! Will leave out the idea of stereo upgrading.

I'm currently running a Bovee 1000 for Bluetooth A2DP streaming. I had an old Dice 30 pin iPhone adapter with DSP adapter laying around so plugged the Bovee right in and works great.

How do you integrate it into car system? The module I’ve ordered has 3pin connector to plug in behind head unit. Is there any other way?

The old Dice system plugged into the CD changer 3 pin (12V/GND/IBus) connector in the back. Had a separate DSP interface module that connected to the iPhone adapter. All done in a 6" space on the left rear compartment. Back when iPhone still had the 30 pin, all the text came up on the mid for the songs/albums/etc. That text function is inop on the Bovee but steering wheel controls all work. Plus it works on my Samsung android phone AND all my wife's iProducts. (iPhones/iPads)
