Nope. I have not seen anyone that ever tried this. I suggest you buy those rubbers from whoever and try to recoup costs by removing and selling all your functional air stuff.

Did mine this weekend and was hoping for the same plan but it wont work im afriad chap.


With the front pipes disconnected it will keep trying to level the front when you move or unlock it (access mode).


To stop that you can disconnect the compressor but then I imagine the rear will gradually get lower and lower and then there will not be a way to bring it back up without a diagnostic tool

Iv just ordered some from a wreckers...off direct replacement...and looks like I'm going to use kyb rear springs from the local automotive shop...just need to source the rear spring rubber mounts.

Paulpen...a quick question since you have already done yours....the rear spring mounting pads...looking on Ebay etc...I can find the bottom one but nothing for the top...did you buy a aftermarket kit...or use second hand parts..???...does the regular x5 come we with both top and bottom pads..??

I got them from a friend of a friend at BMW.


You need the bottom rubber, top rubber and top plastic cup

Today I talked to the local BMW dealer...looks like I'll get the top and bottom rubbers from them....can't seem to find a part number for the top plastic cup...does anyone have it or know where I can find it..???...
