No oil on plug and it looks almost like new 1.5k km on them.
Got about 7 days (400-450km) before misfire returned.
These were replaced from my leftovers that were still in good working order (that was 5k km ago)

This "connection" between cylinder 4 and the transmission is making me think there's some sort of reading from #4 that the transmission uses for some elven magic because I really don't see how two separate things can be in sync to act up and for giving me a headache....

Yes, I think that when the miss goes away the transmission will shift normally. I have never heard of a transmission causing a misfire on a particular cylinder but that doesn't mean it can't. My guess is the reason the transmission shifts funny is really the max load on the engine at shift points. Transmissions can cause failsafe mode but that doesn't cause a particular cylinder to miss and is a dramatic loss of power.

Since it stopped for a significant number of miles and the same problem returned I would check to see if there is an electrical wire or ground damaged or corroded for that cylinder. What is the code number you are getting? Just the one code? Since you have other sets of used replacement parts, if only for grins, I would do another swap.

Update...

Compression test done and no leak down.

So anyone have a clue as to where there might be a wire connection problem that would have an effect on cylinder 4 and transmission shift? (like a Jake brake 2 to 1only when misfire is occurring...)

I think you have a V8 but I know the 3.0L have ignition grounding lugs on the head by the coils that can be a problem.

Yeah 4.8iS but I've swapped coils and injectors so I'm frustrated like someone trying to use a 2 for 1 coupon at a whorehouse...

Again, don't worry about what the transmission is doing, just concentrate on the engine miss. Any problems with the engine can effect how the transmission is shifting.

Maybe a dirty VANOS solenoid?

Hey mate... why don't you try some injector cleaner and run a tank full through while waiting on your parts?

I've run 3 tanks with the BMW, Mercedes branded injector cleaner over the last 4 months and the misfire is getting worse since it started (within last 30 days).

My vanos were replaced 7-8 months ago and I do more oil changes than Jiffy-Lube.... So can't imagine clogging them up in such a short time.

I swear it has to be some kind of electronic issue that is also effecting my transmission since one cylinder having a shit fit should in no way have such a noticeable impact on the transmission.
