Removable Cats

What do you guys think about cutting out the catalytic converters on a ‘06 E53 4.4i and then reinstalling them with exhaust clamps in order to have (relatively) easier access to the cats for cleaning, replacing, examining, etc? In short you would just be adding clamps to make them removable.

I have seen plenty of videos and articles where they do just that, although it’s to install a cat on straight pipes. Just wondering if you guys thought this might be a good idea on existing cats. Thanks!
