Could you please give the exact specs of the actual vehicle and installed donor engine so we are on the same page.

It is a 2004 E53 with a N62 engine. As far as software, I do not know enough to spec that. The replacement engine came out of a 04 745. All electrical hookups matched up fine with existing wiring harness.

One interesting note, is that the check engine light does not come on. I know it works because in INPA I do a "function check" and it does illuminate. A video on YT with a E46 with same symptoms had same issue. He had some different issues, but the light not coming on was a DME problem.

OK, for those of you bored beyond tears with this thread-here is an update! Finally some progress, I think. With Clavurion help, I have studied the schematics till my eyes hurt. I have pulled the IVM and checked all connections there in prep for checking voltage/continuity. Upon removing, I have corrosion on 2 different connectors and one pin missing. It is pin 14 on the the X60094 connector that is missing. I can not find the actual schematic of where that wire goes. But as you can see, others are corroded and who knows what else. So, I have ordered another IVM....
