As a point of comparison, an Amazon chinese MAF I tried threw an unplausible tach signal code during sharp throttle transitions, and when I scanned it I saw unreasonably high reported airflow. I am not getting any trouble codes from running the Cardone MAF so far. Longevity is anyone's guess but for this price I'm not concerned. Here are a few photos ![]() ![]() ![]() The sensor elements appear to be new, they have part #s etched on that the factory sensors do not. I am sure they are aftermarket sensors but at least they are still hotwire type elements, unlike the Chinese no name new MAF sensors I have seen that substitute sensing elements that are totally different in configuration from the stock type. And a link to the $17/each seller (no affiliation) https://www.ebay.com/itm/REMAN-A1-CA...72.m2749.l2649 The Cardone MAF of this part # is over $100 at full price, it is only this cheap because some surplus outlets seem to have a bunch of them. Use any of this information as you see fit, I just wanted to report on what I found. Steve Last edited by BONDOSPECIAL; 01-30-2020 at 04:26 PM. |

I bought one but it didn't work out so well
I thought it worth a chance to try one for $17.00 even though I did not need one. Installed it to make sure it worked and it did for about one hour then SES light and hot film...
I put my working unit in again and no issues. Best of luck with yours. I will say that I sent a message to Cardone and they contacted me and reimbursed me for the cost of the unit. |

^Thank you for going through the experiment pkarnezis. I think these are going to be very hit or miss. Glad it's working out for the OP though. Hard to beat the price.

I have a couple thousand miles on mine with no issues. There isn’t much risk at this price so I figured it was worth a try. Will update if I ever have an issue.

Just thought I'd update this thread 2 years later in case anyone was ever interested. I have put 25,000 miles on the Cardone PN 74-10055 MAF that I bought on Ebay for $30 and it's been totally fine. I bought several of them anticipating that it might not last forever, but the first one I installed is still going.
