Wow OB! My hat's off to you for a) tackling that monster of a job, b) making everything look pristine, and c) for having that wicked floor lift.

I've got to get my Firebird gauges to a shop in NC for refurb - I'm tempted to bring the X5 by to the Overboost Garage for a quote on replacing my OPG!

Don't forget to pop out that front driveshaft and grease up those splines real well with a marine grade (water resistent) lube.

Still waiting on the valdez to stop dripping to put the oil pan back on with a new gasket. 4 full days now and still coming down exactly on one of the Dreibond 1209 sealant corner seams. Recommended drying time is 6-24 hours so trying to keep the sealant uncompromised with oil as it dries.

Maybe tomorrow, not like I'm going anywhere soon.

Don't think I didn't say the same thing. It would already be back on the road.

I think I found a couple more leaks while cleaning it and preparing everything. It looked like I had a intake CPS sensor wicking oil. The connection on the engine wiring loom breakout box had oil in that CPS connector and the boot was wet as well. I pulled the boot back and it was filled with oil. The rest of the wiring up to the CPS and the CPS itself was dry so I think it must have been coming down inside the wiring from the sensor itself. I put a new intake CPS on it just in case.

Another leak looks like the selector shaft on the side of the GM A5S390R transmission. Ordered that seal as well. Just need to figure out how to remove it and install it properly.

Poor baby, just hemorrhaging at 180,000 miles.

I've been looking at those tools and there is some back and forth discussion about the length of the tool to get at the BMW location. That tool for GM transmissions is available at the local auto parts store but it is the long one like 5150 listed. I like the short one Wayne posted. Do you know who makes that one?

To steal from the 914 guys. "If it's not leaking, it doesn't have oil in it."

Besides, BMW dealerships don't call it leaking, they call it "controlled seepage."
