Finally got my selector shaft seal removal/installer tool (Special Tool BMW Part #83 30 0 491 781) for my GM A5S390R (GM 5L40-E) from BMW and fixed the last little leak on the X5 today. That seal was rock hard after 16 years and 180,000 miles, just like the OPG. The small tool made the job a breeze, not even a need to remove the front drive shaft. So nice to have a completely dry engine and trans again.
