RRPhil is on a distinguished road
1st gear on the 5HP24 uses the A-clutch and the F-brake sprag. The A-clutch is also used in 2nd, 3rd & 4th gears. If you select 1st gear in Manual mode the F-brake is applied and this will by-pass the sprag. I should use manual mode for a while and see if the problem disappears. If so, it would indicate that the sprag’s at fault.
