That makes sense, so you would wire them in parallel to keep a 4ohm load on the amp then. I don't know the wattage of the factory amp, will it drive 2 8s without issue or will it leave them need a "boost"?

EDIT - way back in the day I used to run 6 8" JL Audio with 4 12" setup in an isobaric plexi box - it was ammmaaazzzing! Now that I'm an old fart I'm happy (for now) with my single 10" :-) The 8s gave AMAZING punch and the 12s... well... they just BOOMED!

DAAAAAAANNGG! To the edit! I would have enjoyed that bass!

I think these enclosures will help facilitate the frequency response effectiveness. I have the factory DSP system, and with proper tuning sounds fantastic! I think that the amp would be able to push them because, the tune I am using is knocking them out of the frame! LoL.. IMO, the factory system needs to be “finely tuned” to achieve proper sound. I feel like these two 8’s installed in either one of the enclosures, would or could be a possible game changer for factory DSP system for those who want more bass.

I have to admit I have 2 BSW 10" subs with a Rockford Fosgate 1000 watt amp in the E46 and it makes a huge difference. It hits a lot harder than the E53 DSP system even with the Avant-4 adjustments.

The point of my factory sub enclosure mod was to retain a full open trunk and utilize the factory location and box.
I agree that external boxes and "non-shallow mount" subs are sensational, but that's defeating the purpose of this build

I agree! The only purpose of off topic post, was to agree with op on utilizing the factory amp.

Enclosures are slim for maximum space.

Agreed, that is, sadly, why I am only running a single 10” - but it does sound GOOD! - Ao I cant complain
