Seems to be running fine. I like the look of it way better than the stock UI. Plays well with the IBus app, too.

The way the screen is situated in the dash can be problematic in the sun. Doesn't happen too often but when it does this is what you get.

Did I mention the built in microphone sucks?

I have the same problem with my Chinese Android unit of the same screen proportions. But honestly it's a problem with all of them. The avant 2 and 4 both had the same issue.

Good to know CW.

I’d like to hear from the other folks who have the more upright style. Kinda like the new OE style screens. Probably hard to get the angle correct for both viewing and light refraction.

Anyone with an XTRONS unit willing to give me a helping hand? I have been in contact with their customer service for a while now regarding my GPS issues, so far haven’t found any logical problem. I even tried to reset my unit, that unfortunately didn’t help it and the GPS still takes ages to get going. We are now in the stage to determine if the head unit is faulty (hope not, don’t want to go through the hassle of sending it in for repair) or the GPS antenna. For those of you with a good working GPS, could you measure the voltage at the antenna output? I get 5.2v, XTRONS hasn’t replied for a while now, so I can’t tell if that’s within limits or not. Thanks.

You wouldn't happen to be running "Car Launcher" would you? They pushed an update a little while back and it killed my GPS load times and today was a new update that fixed the GPS problem but now setup of personalized screen/apps is a PITA....

Nope. Had the issues even when reset to stock with nothing installed. Doesn’t work in Google Maps or Waze. Very weird issue.

Well crap...

Was hoping it was the app like mine. I have zero ideas then, sorry.

I just checked voltage at the HU and I am getting a reading of only 3.3V. This is in position 1 with the HU connected to WiFi. I did not check at the end of the antenna as it is buried in the dash.

My GPS pops right up when I open the app. Takes maybe 20-30 seconds to load the offline maps that I use.

If I ever own another e53 that needs a new HU, I think I will not get an Xtrons. I can't stand not being able to have at least some kind of support from the manufacturer. That is really the biggest disappointment for me. I always have a lot of questions and like to be able to, at the very least, get and email from someone?
