Are my motor mounts going - AC off reduces vibration
U.S. 2003 X5 3.0 Automatic 162k miles.
In drive, at full stop the car is vibrating. i can feel it mainly through the steering wheels. Its not bad, but noticeable. I thought for sure it was worn motor mounts, however - when I turn the AC off, the vibration reduces some 90%... and if I turn the fan off, its basically gone. What do you think? A local shop here quoted me $825 for the motor mount replacement. I thought that was fair - I don't want to crush my hand or head using a jack and jack stands. The DIY job look intimidating, despite me having done all other work on this car as DIY.
