Same thing I did, but he still had it when I got in touch this morning... My concern was that he had "already put so much money in to it" and all it needed now "was a $300 throttle body"... My "BS" meter flared up and I said give me a few minutes to think it over and when I got back in touch it was gone. If he had any idea what he owned, $300 bucks to make it running and driving... well, we all know would have made it worth (potentially) 3 times what he was asking for it, hence my "BS" meter flair up.

That said, I'm no where close so it would have been sight unseen for me and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't take the gamble - though I did like the fact it only had like 115000 miles on it.

And why would it need a throttle body? I can't think of a time I've heard of a throttle body going bad. Certainly never run across it on any of the boards. Idle control valve yes, throttle body know. I think your BS meter is working fine.

That’s where I was with it, throttle body... hmmm, and knowing it was only a few hundred bucks to fix..., I’d have been selling a running, driving 4.6is - not one that “started and died a few minutes later as it started to warm up”, the fact that it started at all almost certainly ruled out the TB, nor as you said, have I ever really diagnosed a TB as a start and die item.

That said, I hope whoever was lucky (if they’re lucky) enough to have picked it up, fixes it cheap and has a nice driver on their hands

Interesting, buyer backed out or deal fell through maybe. Wow. Also came way down on price, was $3,900 now $3,000 and updated the description too.
