I wonder how many X came without the rear recline seat option. Our 05 3.0i has it, I always thought it was pretty standard.

Maybe you can look into adding some aftermarket sound dampening to further quiet the interior road noise?

Consider carefully. I have two X5's one with sliding floor, one without. While I do use the sliding floor from time to time. I prefer the one without.

-You lose an inch or two of vertical with sliding floor*
- The sliding floor is as heavy as a mo-fo..when you need to lift it up or out for battery service, spare tire, access to electronics

*I share a 20 gallon air compressor (horizontal tank on wheels) with a buddy to blow out sprinklers. It fits in the X5 without sliding rear and does not fit in the x5 with the sliding rear.

That is something to think about. Thanks!

Have you considered dying/painting the leather?

I have seen some very good results with the kits from leatherxkits.com although haven't personally used it yet.

They offer all the factory color options so you should be able to match to your existing interior.

I think finding the reclining rear seats AND in the color you want will be a waiting game so for a couple hundred bucks you can sort of address your resolution while you wait for the real deal.

Nobody rides back there anymore, kids are grown and moved out so I will just wait until the right set pops up. More of an OCD thing, not worth a compromised set of seats to have something right now.

There is always something you want when you don't have it. Same with rear footwell lights. Pre wired just like the heated seats but my model left them out for whatever reason.

Have a look at their pictures, I don't think the word "compromised" would apply, but what do I know.

Curious, the rear footwell lights you're talking about are the ones mounted on the door or the bottom of the rear seats? Are they blanks? or just no bulb in there?

I think these came factory on the earlier models with premium package. Maybe someone knows the details but I have always wanted to do this mod.

Swampy has those lights (As well as the DVD player that can't shut the lid flush) and there's nothing premium about that vehicle.

Do you just have carpeting over where the cutout for the lights would be?

I thought the opposite - that reclining rare seats are a rare option. Hardly ever see them...

I've only seen them as an option in a local sales ad once, and then watchJRgo was the second time.
