It's confusing. And complicated. I feel your pain. I did at least a month of reading before attempting to clear the errors via editing the zcs. Even after all that reading clavurion was a big help in dealing with the special circumstance of having a 4.8is and coding out ehc2.

Edit: From my thread I linked.

This thread was helpful.

And this website was SUPER helpful in illustrating what Clavurion is talking about.

I now have a grasp on what all this means. I do have some more questions:
I’ve been reading and studying like crazy. That line in Clavurion’s post is the line that deletes the EHC? This is done in text editor? You had mentioned you had to recode the truck from 4.8 to 4.4. Was this necessary to get the ehc module delete to stick?
After I get this done I will compile a diy write up for all of the future peeps that will need to do this mod.

Hi guys -

without rushing this, I switched to coilvers some months ago and am gradually putting together the mental picture of how to go about sidestepping the EHC to avoid the dash warning....

Might you perhaps have time to give us a step-through for myself and a friend to succeed at this too??

I started to put together a diy and had to stop unexpectedly. I’m happy to post the screen shots and directions as far as I got when I get back from out of town next week. It’s complicated and scary but if you follow along with this thread and the info Clavurion and Crystalworks give throughout it, you can be just about ready to tackle the errors. You have to know what you’re doing. Read through as much as you can. Crystalworks and Clavurion are super helpful but know in advance what you need to ask. That was the challenging part for me. You’ll get it and you’ll be fine just put in the work.

That would be amazing - I am full of trepidation about it since I have only used INPA and not even NCS Expert/Dummy before, and my friend is gonna do as much homework as possible on the checksums and everything cos he is that kind of perfectionist!!

No need to worry about checksums. Just erase them and NCS will calculate new ones if you tick the box.

Okay - I'm feeling fairly confident to do this - I just did a dry run on opening some module output in NCS Dummy, but one weird thing is that when I went to edit the FA in NCS Expert, there was nothing in the list!!

Also it gets the correct last 7 digits of my VIN from the KMB, then adds a number 9 to the end... :shrugs:
