Transfer case fluid questions and transfer case oil reset

Yes, another oil related post. HOORAY! JUMP FOR JOY!

So, I am going to flush my transfer case. I figured I'd find the correct fluid pretty easy.

I normally find what I'm looking for but I'm finding multiple different answers.

Some threads say throw dex vi in it, some say a 75w gl4 oil, others say some special transfer case oil. Some say it doesn't matter what fluid because it's just some chains inside that need to be bathed in lube.

FCP sells the oils, but for both that say are for the x5 transfer case one is 75w type and the other is tranny fluid!



Then the other thing.... will inpa clear the oil wear code once I'm done?
