Suitable scanner
Hello everyone,
I am in Australia and in need of a suitable scanner to clear SAS, ABS and DSC warning lights. These came about because the instrument cluster was replaced. No codes with the old cluster. Cluster was replaced because of pixel issues. The vehicle in question is a 2003 X5 diesel E53, built date 08/2003. I have watched a couple of YouTubes using the Icarsoft i910 scanner. When I questioned the supplier in Australia (AZSCANNERS), they informed me it would not work on an Australian car and needed to purchases a Vident i730 for $975. Admittedly the You Tubes are on UK vehicles. They have a Vident i400 but refuse to guarantee it will work. Has anybody had any experience using a scanner that will clear the codes. I don't know anything about scanners other then a generic one which works on a Japanese car does not want to communicate with the X5. I cannot tell if AZSCANNERS are simply trying to sell me a more expensive unit the what I need. Thank you, Larry PS: Don't have a laptop I can use. It has to be a stand alone unit already loaded with software for BMW. Not looking to use on any other vehicles. Last edited by Larry200; 01-07-2022 at 08:35 PM. Reason: Forgot to mention laptop |
