Phone holders

Does anyone use a ProClip holder? My other two daily drivers have them. The inserts fit right into seams. I'm looking for an X5 holder. One that will use a short cord to reach the USB/Bluetooth 12V cigarette adapter. The picture may not be visible. Click on the installation instructions for a pic. Mine has a business CD option. Part number #853463 fits mine. Plus a phone holder.

I use proclip in my E90 and E36. I've got a crappy vent mount in the E53 at the moment.

My big frustration with proclip is how long it takes them to release a new phone holder after iPhone redesigns. It looks like they finally pushed out a 13 Pro Max holder.

That said, now that they exist, I'll probably buy one.

I went magnetic mount about 5 years ago. It's so easy and unobtrusive for a daily driver, I'll never go back. Rock Solid.

This is a great one to try out. Only $11: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-WizG...dp/B01G0X56YU/

Unless you like a wired connection, or refuse to use a phone case. (Both apply to me.)

Phone holders

that ProClip system looks good; historically the best mounts have always been RAM Mount, but they are overkill for phones usually.

i recently bought this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JLL2GVG...ing=UTF8&psc=1

i can't use the base that comes with because i have a magnetic charger but i figured out how to combine the magnet with my charger so it will work incredibly well… the mount is aluminum and holds tight to the vent with 4 set-screws that grip around the center portion and it fits perfectly.

Used on similar to this for awhile until I installed a new head unit that gave me everything I needed there.

Going to disagree. Proclip's great virtue is that they have always offered secure dash and console mounts that don't require damaging the car to install.

Additionally, ProClip offers an excellent hardwire system that allows you to just slide the phone home. I'll grant that that matters a lot less than it used to, but it still matters.

you apparently didn't understand what i said. I was saying it looks like the ProClip is better than the historically best ram mount. are you saying I was wrong and RAM mount still is better?

The one i linked above is made of metal and is definitely a stronger connection than the procllip but only is exact model specific. (and uses metal ball/magnet ring solution that won't work with all phones)

I use that Proclip mount together with the Scosche Magnetic mount XL. I like the combo and have it on all of my current cars.

How far back in history are we going? I bought my first Proclip mount nearly 20 years ago (for my iPod, lol) and they weren't new then. I don't know when RAM mount could ever have been good.
