passenger seat airbag light on dash
I looked into other functions on the Foxwell, found the pertinent airbag "seat mat" section, but was unwilling to disregard the warning about going further into it. So I came in and read some more posts on the seat mat bypass that others use to make the problem go away, but all the devices (emulators) I've found are for later years, or for Euro-spec cars. Suggestions? If my 2001 X5 can't be bypassed, is the Foxwell capable of turning off the light? or will I screw it up worse?

You can't clear abs code with the error. I thought I found ass mat bypass for my '01. (my wife's '01 would give ass detector error when cold ambient) I was getting prepared for the inevitable.

I'm unclear concerning your response; you thought you found a bypass...what next?

I'll keep searching, since you say they're out there for '01 models.

It's common for the airbag module to fail. The foxwell should show an internal error. You can command the foxwell to clear the error, it will just report "sorry I can't do that" if the error is internal of the module.

cheers for that, I have been geting erratic error messages from the pasenger airbag, bypassing the sensor should be just the ticket. If kids happen to get in my car I will have no problem if they get launched out of the rear window :d

That's awesome about launched. My understanding is with the bypass you will have to leave the seatbelt plugged in or code out the alert. Also that the airbag will assume larger passenger so would be good to keep smaller kids in the back seat.

There'll be no kids in that seat, but my 5'4", 14-year younger-than-me wife could use a good punch in the face sometimes...not a problem.

![]() My X5 is a 2001, so it seems to be different from the Euro and later models that I can find videos for, but the ebay listing said it is for early model US trucks/cars.
