The fuse listing is highly detailed! If I had it months ago it would have been helpful. The table will be added to my X5 maintenance book. Go here for fuse protected components: https://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/bmw...x-diagram.html F60 30 AMP General Module (Rear Power Window, Power Door Locks, Power Mirror) So, now I can limit my F60 amp draw to these components. Suspect number #1 - folding mirrors! They won't stay folded but work. I'll look for replacement microswitches. Next, unplug both mirrors.

The peripheral components won't explain the current draw. There wont be any current unless GM supplies voltage to these components.
So if fuse F60 is installed does it still prevent vehicle going to sleep mode?

Party buster.......
![]() After finding the info, I had my circuit flow in reverse due to excitement. ![]() The EWS delete solved the major amp draw. With F60 out, amp draw is 11 mA. I don't know if it's asleep. I didn't have time after the EWS work to test. After the EWS DME swap, the X5 made a 334 mile trip for suspension work two days later. I can confirm, with both F11 and F60 out, the battery voltage measured 12.5 at the cigarette light after a week. Not every accurate but a good indicator. Once I get up to use the lift and do the suspension work, I'll do better testing. It's currently going on a two week no start experiment. Battery measurement after two weeks will tell me if it's asleep. If it works, I may put in a switch bypass for F60. I have a long learning curve to clone the GMIII module. Or if I can someone to clone the OEM one.

Update: The X5 was not started for three weeks. With F60 out and successful EWS delete, battery voltage read 12.1V. Not bad for no starts in three weeks. Not wanting to strain the electrical system, a lithium small pack was used. The X5 cranked right up. I let it run a while to recharge the battery. I'll go back to do all suspension and driveline work in June. The 335 miles used about 1/4 quart of oil. The oil pan gasket will be replaced during a front suspension rebuild. The valve cover is good. A new one will be installed anyway.
The alarm was on all three weeks. The internal sensor is turned off by pressing the lock button twice. A GENIII clone replacement will be done to try and eliminate F60 amp draw. Arrangements have been made for cloning. Plus a BMW tech will do the front and rear alignment.

And I'd be surprised if the mirrors were the cause of the drain... but I guess any thing is possible!

(Resolved)
A GMIII module installation and coding fixed all the remaining small issues. Fixed with an ebay used module: interior lights, windshield washer pump, BC button functions, no more F60 battery drain, and it goes to sleep after 16 minutes. F60 no longer has amp draw. F60 feeds, rear door locks, liftgate, and lower tailgate. The used GMIII fixed everything so sleeping amps are factory specs, 18 mA!! Eventually, I'll clone the used GMIII module. Having a replacement for testing or use, will save a lot of troubleshooting time.

No problem. I hope it helps someone in the future. Being here, I've solved a lot of issues resolved by others posters.
Hey, time for that meet up in New Braunsfels!

I was just in NB last weekend picking up an X5 bike rack and pet liner for the rear cargo area.
You probably saw them on CL. We just got a new pup and went for the liner, but saw the bike rack and couldn't pass it up for the $$$.

Oh, so you snagged up the liner. I did see it. I was out of town two weekends in a row. It's okay. I have my X5 after 5 months of waiting for repairs. I do have a cargo area weather liner. It's time to clean out the cargo area. So many boxes and little parts left over. A tool kit and 1 bottle of oil are about the only things to carry now. Due to oil pan work, it didn't use a drop for 337 miles! Now I know I have competition on Craigslist!
