How to replace the front cup hoder?

Hi all! The sliding cover of my front cup holder is broken, so I have to renew the entire cup holder. Does anyone know how to remove and replace the front cup holder? Thanks for help!

Good day!

I don't have a write-up on it, but the short version to the longer process is that you need to remove the center console and remove the screws from underneath... You will need to release the tension on your E-brake so you can pull it up to its mechanical max... I think the shifter assembly also needs to come out or maybe just out of park... wiggle the cluster out and up... flip it and you should see the torx screws holding it in...

Let us know if you need pictures... my center console is currently out... so, no problem there.

Cheers!

There is a new design replacement clip for the cup holders that installs from the outside (unlike the original design which installs from the inside). I grabbed six of the new ones and replace all mine in about 90 seconds, with no tools.

Replacing the sliding lid requires complete removal however...

I did get the new clip design but I didn't like the idea of the old ones being inside the console. I thought it would be a reasonably easy thing to pull apart and retrieve the originals. It wasn't until I was too far along that I realized how much effort I had expended. Personally I don't like the new clips but they are definitely a lot easier to install.

I've got four
full sets that I will never use all of. I tried to cancel two of them, but they had already been prepared for international shipping. I think I paid $75 per set. I'd sell up to 18 for $10/ea, shipped within US. I can ship them out right away!
