Quick question: air suspension
Went to the storage garage yesterday to check on the cars and the front end was down a couple of inches, rear end looked ok. The system raised the front with no delay when I unlocked the car, as it should. Recognizing it should be a sealed system with no leaks, what are your results in terms of actual performance? Is a couple of inches drop over a couple of months of sitting typical or does it suggest investigation? I know the bags are linked so one weak bag would drop the entire front (or rear). If investigation suggested, given the age of the bags are they or another item the likely culprit? I’m sure this is answered elsewhere but wanted to say hello to the group anyway. Months to drop suggests a weak seal in a valve somewhere. I drive past some undriven BMWs that are sitting on their bump stops I think it's not all that uncommon.
I've left my old e53 sit for about two months without driving and it held (was about 17 years old at the time). I'll be curious to hear if people have had leaks other than the air SPRING (Airbag are what catch you in an accident).
