I just decided to go with the AUX jack with AUX mode. the one CD changer I had was not working well anymore. Well it was 7 years of usage and wear and tear took its course. AUX did its job though, but I just hated fumbling around with the Ipod to put the right playlist on.

@x5chemist, did you ever get the bluetooth adapter installed?

I almost had it installed last week. I'll try to get to it Thursday or Friday this week. I'm curious if it will work. Plus, I see some with a microphone now too. If it works, I'll go back and swap one with a microphone. However, the phone mic should work too.

Ok, finally got around to installing the AUX/CD cable option. No instructions were included with the harness. Removing the radio and CD are easy with a 10T screwdriver. The harness plugs in between the body and CD. Two blue plugs need to be removed on the body side. One slid out easily. The other had a tab to remove before sliding the plug out. 3M double sided tape was used to hold the Bluetooth antenna along side the CD player. Once installed, you can see it under the CD. Radio settings are set to AUX once Bluetooth is connected. the steering wheel volume buttons work. Unfortunately, forward or reverse song don't work. It will do for now. No more Bluetooth adapter in the 12V port. Found the AUX had 5 levels of out put. Raised them to level 5. I'll have to try calls and maps directions later.

CD option for bluetooth
Maybe you can help me. I want to install a 3.5 mm female aux jack on my pre lci dsp sound system. I see some wire harnesses on Amazon, but I’ve learned with my X one size does not fit all. I appreciate all suggestions.

Are you looking at this one?
The radio and CD come out super easy. You can pull them out and check connection options. Mine doesn’t have DSP. Looking at the link pics, it would fit mine.

https://www.amazon.com/Auxiliary-Inp...=AZQKFHQ1B8MYJ I want it to be hard wired, not Bluetooth. I have a cassette player, but dsp as well. So, that is what made me curious if this hardware would work. This is the option I definitely want though. E53 RiPPeR XOuTPoST jUNkiE ReVELaTiON 22:21

I didn't post this picture. The option you posted should work. Take a look. the plug would go into the missing 12 smaller pin set if the body side has the option.

I have no DSP, Business CD on 2001.
Will this one work, they say it does not work with Reverse Radio, don't know what that means and they have not replied to question. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124200510091
