Sweet! You have helped other users as well too! Nice research and solution. Pics go a long way with information. No one probably would look at part numbers unless they are trying to solve a problem. I do the same thing you do. Take information posted and dig deeper with part numbers.

All I ask, can I get a ride in the meth powered supercharged M54?

Maybeee.. Being that we’re not too far from one another.

CW and I have been able to attend one meet so far. It seems with our similar interest in motor vehicles, or possibly anything powered, LoL.. That maybe we will meet again. If life permits, you should be there!

An X5 gathering was mentioned on another post. Somewhere central to Austin and San Antonio. Houston is not that far. I mentioned New Braunfels or Lockhart for BBQ. I have confidence in my X5 drivetrain. Minor electrical issues have been worked out since the GMIII module replacement. It's time to take it out of Austin for highway miles. City miles are boring.

If timing works out (I have an odd work schedule) I'd love to come to an X5 gathering! I have no issues taking my X anywhere, since I drove it from Florida to Texas a couple of months ago...

Nice! So the does display say AUX when used? I've been enjoying Bluetooth on mine. It's time to add music to my playlist. Way too many songs have been replayed over and over. I'll change the topic title if possible to CD/AUX/Bluetooth options. Thanks for adding to the topic Happy.

Yep, I now have aux in my mode options. I saw those Bluetooth adapters. That’s a really sweet option as well! The newer Bluetooth COMMs have fantastic sound quality these days as well. For me, once I saw there was a genuine aux adapter my mind was set. I know what you mean with regards to song repetition. I was shocked to find out that even YouTube sounds amazing in the X now! So I pretty much have an unlimited music library.

It’s pretty awesome that an option that was not even available for my build, was attainable simply by swapping out my tape deck with a CD player.

CW was correct as well. The sound quality is substantially higher with the aux adapter, than the tape adapter.

With the recent modifications I have done to the sound system, combined with hours of tuning, I am truly shocked with the sound output now! I did not know what to expect. I figured a little bass would help, but never did I think I would be blown away!

I’ve only owned one other vehicle, (which is several over the years) that offered studio quality sound. Yeah, I’ve had loud powerful systems in the past, but the X is in a class of its own. I am still shocked myself! I must have hit the sound lottery! LoL..

THANK YOU..!! X5chemist for taking time to share your mods on xoutpost! It’s because of your enthusiasm that I was able to discover a resolution for my aging sound system.

The DSP system excites me just as much as my performance mods now! This E53 never ceases to amaze me! All glory to my Father in Heaven!!!

Wow, just realized yours is an '02! The new AUX Bluetooth sound is way better than the radio station/cigarettes lighter adapter option. As soon as it powers up, Bluetooth says connected! The speakers need upgrading. They'll do for now. I can image how a DSP sounds better than mine. Wify likes that she can play music and use phone navigation at the same time through the speakers. She'll get a pleasant surprise when she takes it to work tomorrow. I finally found a good phone holder. The mounting bracket and ball were used. The magnetic kit attachment was trashed. A different holder was used on the 17mm ball. It's universal so different holders can be used.

Would all the steering wheel controls work on an E53? If so, I would buy one. Even provide pics and video. E53s are on the list. A pic or video would be convincing. Scrolling through stations or songs is great. Mine does not have the CD changer or DSP.
