At $2k that's a great deal no matter what you do with it. If the engine runs, that's probably worth at least what you paid for it. If you keep it, it should clean un nicely. Exterior looks great.

Regardless of the outcome should be an interesting and fun project.

Wow! I always love looking at other bimmer's specs.

So it says here it has the "M-texture." Is that like the alcantara? It's hard to tell in the pictures.

Also, it does have PDC. Seems like it's also hard to tell from the pictures.

Looks like you should have the sunshades in the back too! Cool! And rear seat heating!! Nice. I wish my e53 had these. But obviously, not avail on the 3.0 models--or at least I never seen it stock.

But I'd watch out for some of the options going haywire, due to high voltage discharges.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to in the picture. That is a header for what packages it has in the build sheet.

it says "lightning" not "lighting"

It's easy to look past the misspelled word that the decoder wrote; I must've read my VIN, decoded by the same source, a dozen times before I noticed it. I still find it amusing.

Yeah I heard that! Lightning, that stuff is pretty dangerous I’ve been told.

No luck on getting it started today. It seems like the key that was provided does not turn in the ignition. The key locks and unlocks the doors when I put it in the drivers door key cylinder, but when I put the key in the ignition, feels locked up. Key buttons don’t work. Key looks newly replaced.

Good news: got the drivers window rolled up

The ignition had the same issue when the tow truck driver dropped off the vehicle. I didn’t see how he did it, but he was able to get it unlocked to free up the steering and get it in neutral.

Any suggestions?

Pull against the wheel lock stop back/forth hard while turning the key.
