injector drivers in the DME? gone bad
Quote:
Almost two months ago, I saw a Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics video https://youtu.be/7KyMZNHfvzk, concerning another BMW crank, no-start situation. It concluded with the diagnosis that the injector ground was left loose/off by the dealer when they worked on it, and the indy diagnostician (Ivan) and his mentor concluded that the injector drivers in the DME got fried. I haven't watched the video again, but reading this thread made me think of it. Good luck fixing your problem.

As far as I know, E-box is what is attached to the radiator. If that's what you're talking about, the answer is no, mainly because I don't it's location. Would you explain please.

The E-Box houses the Engine Computer, Transmission Computer, relays and fuses for most of the the engine management.

That is good to know for the negative side. BTW, I did use a multimeter to test the voltage causing the engine not starting. I even tested all injectors by giving them a 12 volt and hearing a tick sound. All six are good. The fuel pressure shouldn't be an issue because the car ran perfectly prior to this event. So why do the injectors show "off" when tested by the scanner if there is voltage. My scanner is Foxwell NT530, it's not the greatest but does have capability of testing a lot of components. It reaches the component and activates it. It can even move the seats. I didn't get the print of the test at the time, but showed "off" for all six injectors. You are getting side tracked with the injectors and your scanner, the thread title should be "no start after work done" Triple check all your work especially any ground connections and the the junction by the throttle body.

I've already ripped through the airintake manifold. Apart from the main body grounds, I'm not sure if any other ground exists. If there are, would you please share it with me. Thanks |

I think the point was/is that your injector issues are a symptom, not the real problem. Do you have the Bentley manual for the e53? Invaluable for serious work on these things.
