There is a fuseable link under the clutch that you can replace in vehicle. I will say there is not a lot of room to work and its not a fun job, but not hard.
Someone else did a write up years ago. I had to do mine 5yrs or so ago and has been fine since

- Low and High pressures read 100 approx 100 psi
- When removing harness from pressure switch, the aux fan turns on as expected. Aux fan appears to work ok.

Would this indicate a bad compressor? Bad clutch?

Did the clutch read 0 ohms? Sounds like it's toast. Are these compressors free spin pulley type? If so, grab the center portion and turn it by hand. If it spins, the compressor can still be good. If the center portion doesn't spill freely, then it's likely it locked up and burned the clutch too.

should measure close to zero, not actually zero
if it reads open its the fusable link under the clutch,

It can be fixed without removing the whole compressor, but there is not much room and its not fun.
there is a thread on here about it from someone else
