Did the clutch read 0 ohms? Sounds like it's toast. Are these compressors free spin pulley type? If so, grab the center portion and turn it by hand. If it spins, the compressor can still be good. If the center portion doesn't spill freely, then it's likely it locked up and burned the clutch too.

should measure close to zero, not actually zero
if it reads open its the fusable link under the clutch, It can be fixed without removing the whole compressor, but there is not much room and its not fun. there is a thread on here about it from someone else
