The Osram Nightbreakers sell between $100 and $150 per bulb. I haven't looked at Phillips pricing.

I always order them from Power Bulbs. Usually $150 but it's been awhile so looks like inflation/supply chains have them at $170/pr now. It does take 2-3 weeks for them to arrive though usually.

The extra set of headlights were pulled out for comparison. The older set has more miles on them. However, they are virgin lens. They should clean up nicely. Apparently on my X5, the bulbs have been replaced once. Two cover screws were found stripped out. One was missing. The replacement set has all screws intact. The replacement bulb is a little less luminess. It will work until I can clean up the replacement set and install new bulbs.

Good deal. You're covered then and don't need the ones I have here.

The Nightbreakers aren't really necessary, but I have been happy with them FWIW. Phillips or Osram standard D2S replacement bulbs will save $60-80 for the pair depending on where you source them.

CW, thanks for your offer. If I didn't have an extra set of bulbs, I would have driven down there to get them. The coolant system is my next pressing maintenance item. Mostly the two coolant pipes under the intake. I'm accumulating parts for intake removal. Available now are cam intake/exhaust sensors and coolant tank. Dipstick o-ring and some coolant pipe o rings. Parts to order are both pipes, TBI lower intake hose, DISA valve repair kit, and CCV.
