Does your vendor make a 3.0i 90C thermostat? I've tried two vendors. One overseas and one stateside. No responses. I suppose they don't make them anymore. I would definitely install one if one was available.

aureliusmax,
I tried BAVLOGIC, LLC. No reply. In the comments section they post a reply: "m54 is a good engine and tstat is not that hot 97C, i recommend only pressure cap mod"
The site seems to only supply V8 thermostats. Mine already has a 1.4 bar tank cap.

Another post from BAVLOGIC, LLC.
"Need to order for an 2003 bmw 540i." Reply: "we dont make them anymore, sorry"

really weird. he has a phone number on his website, i would give him a call and ask. he claims to be able to disassemble and recalibrate the thermostats for 90 degree .
