Door locks acting up
For what I have read, issues like these are quite typical with these and I understood the lock actuator is typically the culprit. But before rushing into shopping for a new lock actuator, is there anything else to check beforehand? For example, can the GM3 module cause something like this? As a side note, the remote control in my key doesn't work at all at the moment, and I haven't been able to pull the trigger to purchase a new key yet, not knowing if it would fix the issue. https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...mittently.html

Have you tried to sync both keys? I would try that first. If they don't sync, the batteries are probably shot. Or use a scanner to ready key IDs. If IDs can be read, batteries are good. An advance scanner or software can lock and unlock individual doors, I think.

Yeah I have tried syncing the keys with no luck. When I got the car, one key was working perfectly, other one was out of sync. After some time, the key started to fail intermittently, requiring multiple pushes to work. I then synced the other key with car, same problem persists. As time went by, it just got worse and worse and now it's not working at all. Both of the key's batteries are checked by a company specializing in car keys, batteries were fine in both of them, and they were able to verify that both of them were sending a signal. I guess it's still possible that the batteries just went bad but what is the likelihood of it happening to both keys exactly the same time. Or there could be something else wrong with the keys, but I believe there might be something wrong in the car side.
Anyway, I wasn't aware of the key ID thing, can it be done via Inpa? Altogether, I'm not sure if the key problem has anything to do with the door lock issue but I wouldn't rule anything out.

I would say the the door lock problem is probably the actuator motor in the driver's door if that is the one not locking. I have that same thing going on at times with my passenger door but it doesn't happen often and pretty much corrected itself after I bought a new actuator motor which is still sitting on a shelf

If I end up buying a new actuator, is it recommended to go with a BMW part which I can purchase for a little under 200 euros or does anyone have had any luck with an aftermarket ones which seem to go for around 100 euros?
