Headlights

2006 E53 6cyl.

The ring around my high beams is no longer lighting up on the driver side.

Is there a bulb specifically for that or is it something else?

Yes it's a separate bulb and you just unlatch the cover and replace it.

X5chemist will become famous soon enough
Do old bulbs wear out? Or is it old lenses that make them dull? My X5 blew up another xenon bulb. Luckily, I still had one more spare from a second set of lenses. With no spares left, it's time to clean up the second set for installation.

It's normally a combination of bulbs getting dim before burning out and that the angel eyes on the e53 are basically a fiber optic piece that gets fairly worn-out with UV damage making them dimmer.
