Question Driver side rear window power cut off?

Hi everyone:
I'm replacing the driver side rear window regulator because the rail clip and the cable were broken. While waiting for the new part to deliver, and out of curiosity, I re-plug the old window regulator and the bottom of the door's curtesy light back to check on the power but both the regulator motor and the light no longer work. It looks like the car computer shut the power off for the door. Is this normal/abnormal? Once I got the new regulator installed, how can I get the power back? Thanks!

Did you plug the door switches back in?? Do the other doors work ? You might have shorted something and blown a fuse.

Yes, all three other doors work normally . Is there a fuse specifically for rear door driver side, if so, can someone point it out?

There's a good chance the problem is with the connector(s) to the module in the door body. That happened to me with my driver's front door module. It took several attempts to get the system working properly.

First match I found for "e53 x5 fuse diagram"

Thanks Haigha! i will report back once I got the new window regulator installed. BTW. i tested the motor and the light bulb themselves with 12 volts and they work fine. so something in the car or door switch module shut off the power

i was concerned that while removing the regulator, i accidently turned the key on/off a couple of times to move the clip, then the computer detected the missing parts and turned off the power.

All those interior lights have the same voltage source so it has to be a wiring/connector issue.

Thank you everyone for helping! Got the new regulator but since the old motor was till good, I transferred it to the new part, I also wanted to keep the old oem connector plug. After reconnecting all the connectors, everything worked. The only boo boo I did was that I broke the sunscreen plastic housing off from the door panel so I had to glue it back. Watch out for this piece when you do this repair.
