1stE53 is on a distinguished road
I had a terrible rattle as well. I did the rubber stopper adjustment, 90% better rite off the bat. A week later I used a product from Zymol called 'Seal'. It is to condition the seals. It was a bitch to put on but ooooooooo my did it work!!! The rattle is gone. Another benifit was that the wind noise was considerably lower (already low before). I estimated about the same noise level going 100 as it was going 60 before the conditioner. My X5 is a 2003 so I guess the seals had been pretty dry. The Zymol leather conditioner (the real stuff not the cheap one you get at target) was a miracle product as well. I only wear slacks and warm up pants and I slide all over the place! It, again, was $30 for a small bottle. Well worth it since I plan on keeping this car for a very long time
