Nevermind, I looked t up myself. Same P/N, but listed two times to indicate that older part was up to 11/30/2005 and newer part started 12/1/2005

Then i dont understand, its the same part number, in that case it wasnt changed at all? I do see a difference that since 2003 though #38 a bump stop was added to the latch.

The part number may not have changed, but the part obviously has. It would not matter if you were ordering the part for a 2003 model or a 2006 model, the new part would be of the spring loaded variety. In other words, you would no longer be able to buy the adjustable hatch stop.

Gotcha, although bmw normally puts a new part number that superceeds the old one.

I have an 01' 4.4 that is recovering from a deer to the windshield and I want to fix the sunroof while it is there. How does this felt go on? Any photos? I am going to have my buddy install a new cassette while he spends 10 hours on the roof.

These are the two stops on the top trunklid itself?
Or the two round bottom bumps that screw into the body?
