I tried the inexpensive fix in the Door Handle but did not work.
Bought a new item from BMW dealer for ~ $110. Not too bad for sth that lasted 15 yrs/120K miles. The door actuator is a different item.

Yeah, it's important to note that the door handle, the door lock, and the door lock actuator are all separate things.
What's even more amazing is that EACH ONE tends to break because it's been designed poorly. Really showing just how high quality this German engineering is. A real "You had one job" moment.

Worse: when bmw saw that the DHC would self destruct with far greater frequency in cold climate they made a revised version to attempt to fix the problem and fixed the wrong part did no good whatsoever.
The handle will break due to under engineering The DHC breaks due to over engineering The DLA fails due to sourcing inferior tiny motors

My biggest complaint is the eu forces BMW too use shitty rubber for the internal engine seals and they don't use proper rubber even inn the USA.
