There's a lot of variation in these cars because of the different engines fitted - my 3.0d diesel is somewhat different from your 3.0i petrol.
This thread from 2015 indicates a similar problem locating the starter relay: - https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...n-mystery.html Despite searching, I've yet to find any info that shows an e-box layout like yours, with only three relays in that area. Still searching though and in the meantime, hopefully someone that actually has a 3.0i LCI car can chime in!

I don't think the M54 has a starter relay, wiring diagram shows control is direct from the EWS module. V-8 wiring shows a separate relay.

You have a 3.0L (M54) engine, so no starter relay.

Thanks confirming. So I left the battery disconnected over night, just reconnected everything back and the problem is still there...
Any other suggestions? |

Does the door have a jam switch? The switch could be bad.
