diamond key shell (replacement for funky original) is ready to use

I recently replied to another post concerning diamond key replacements and workarounds https://xoutpost.com/1233252-post16158.html

I ordered the diamond key shell (from https://roskinc.com/) as a test, and when I received it today (via USPS), I tried it immediately. It works on the door and ignition switch (everything but the engine came on, since there was no board or chip in place), just fine.

Now, when I need to open up my one-and-only diamond key again, I'll have this new shell ready and waiting (my original shell is a mess...shattered and glued together, looking bad, so much so that I put a silicone cover on it). All I'll need to do is transfer the chip and electronics board to it, put a new battery inside, resolder the wire I once severed, and snap the new shell together (I haven't done a test on the snap-together part yet, since I'm not wanting to pry it open for no reason).

I'm still going to get a legit second key from BMW or https://www.thebmwminipartstore.com/, since I really don't want to remove and ship my EWS to California.

found the missing "remote-only" fob

Now that I've got a new spare "cut" key (blade is cut, but no chip inside), the original diamond key, and the two-year-old "remote-only" fob (blade uncut, no chip), I just found the missing "remote-only" key, that I had blamed the wife for misplacing.

It was still in a Nite Ize EDC belt case ( containing a 9-volt battery, battery clips, and "remote-only" key fob... carried to be able to get enough power to unlock the doors, in case the main battery fails, and my good "diamond" key remote is dead, and the mechanical doorlock breaks...a "what if" to the max). I found it when I retrieved my big charger/maintainer from its' storage spot in the trunk, while testing my Foxwell today https://xoutpost.com/1234098-post8.html

Nice to find it, with the battery inside it relatively fresh, but I still need another "chipped" key, or do an EWS delete. I'll have to apologize to the wife, since I misplaced the spare fob, not her.

Bah, I say just let it go. I've misplaced my wife dozens of times and she always finds her way back.
