![]() Secondly I also need new brake line since it’s leaking. Any good leads for a supplier that’s not overpriced. |

Make your own brake line.
I think I bought 30' of 3/16 nicop, half a dozen of the small nuts two of the bigger size and the proper iso flare tool for under $100 and made exact copies of the factory lines. Is your rear sub rusting away or do you just need to replace the bushings. I have a set of bushings and the tool. Never used as that X5 was killed by a deer before I had a chance to install.

Replacing brake lines on E53 is quite common. I bought this one:
https://a.co/d/ipp22rJ and bought flaring tools, cutter, bending tool separately. The real trick is to get it all bled when you are done. You will need to activate ABS pump bleed function with a scan tool. Several others have replaced the rear subframe..Have a search. Replacing all the bushings and other wear-out items makes sense while it is out. If I had to do it I would buy a used rear subframe from a rust-free state. Look at car-part.com. I bougth a replacement FRONT subframe and haven't installed it yet.
