Yeah, in the past I have read horror stories about the same water ingress...but not the non sync of the immobilizer and ecu.

Are you seriously thinking of doing this part swap instead of syncing with proper diagnostics? It's very possible that the other set also needs a sync before it works.

Aaah why not!
Car just sitting in the driveway.
Units just sitting on shelf.

Don't you just love it! sitting something aside not knowing when you going to need it and then you need it! Just one more gremlin headache avoided in BMW ownership life. Then I send the other out to have it re synic'd... however, I have about three keys for the current system.

If it worked using a Foxwell NT530, then it might work on NT510 or NT520 units as well.

The nt-530 doesn't do all e53 modules like the 510/520.
