Hi all

Looking for an easy way to bring the side steps back
to newish condition.
don't fancy taking all the rubbers out..

It done the job (2 years ago) I can now see specks of rust begining again.

I would still say remove the rubber grommets and plastic trim between side step and body first. It's not that difficult with plastic prying tool. Then clean it with Sonüs Aluminium restore. After cleaning protect the surface with nano sealant and push the grommets back on. You can use same sealant as on the plastic parts like Gtechniq C4.

As far as I know the surface is anodised aluminum not stainless steel. The rust sports are metal particles from the environment not from the base material.

Careful when you pry those nubbins out... they are EXPENSIVE!

You can buy aftermarket push pins, but the OE ones are ridiculous...

Correct! They are durable, but don't lose them.
