Seat pouch backing

Looking for a hidden air freshener, this happens.

Does it clip in? Glued on?

Typically hog rings but they won't all fail at once I'm curious. Feels like there must be just a couple hidden clips that pulled out all at once.

Clips for sure…amd maybe some glue that let loose long ago on my old seats. But I definitely found clips when i disassembled the seats I had re-covered. Check out https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=52_2624

The problem is that they are glued to the back of the panels.

Oh! Like door panel glued on clips? Easy fix. Remove the clip. Glue them back to the back. Reinstall. I used Gorilla glue to fix a door panel the same way.

This happened to both my seats, I just used Permatex Ultra Black to adhere the clips to the seat.

Below was my process:

Found the clips that feel off (2 clips)

Removed back panel by using a box cutter to cut the ends of (2 of these under the outside back panel):

Rexka Seat Back Panel Clip for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FCQ37H2...p_mob_ap_share

Squeezed Permatex Ultra Black where the old glue was and placed the clips where applicable.

Waited a day to dry.

Grabbed the panel and fit the panel from the bottom up, aligned the holes on the bottom of the panel and inserted the Rexka clips through the bottom up.

Good as new.

Nice info about the lower two holding tabs. I'll have the BMW in the garage this week. First, a new aluminum valve cover and gasket. I can take the back off and glue the clips back on. A kit of various clips should have what I need to replace the lower two ones.

After snow and several days of rain, it was sunny and warm today. I decide to tackle the seat back. A trickle charger was connected to fully charge the battery.

I tried carefully to remove the bottom two push in clips. After pinching myself three times with needle nose pliers, I cut the dang things off. No sense in trying to save them. A kit from Harbor Frieght has replacements. While removing the back, I could hear the slid clips bouncing around. I clean off glue and glue them back on. The Gorilla glue will cure overnight. The cover will go back on tomorrow.

Good stuff. I cut mine off too, but I didn't have the clips on me, I ordered them the same day. Cheers!
