Google replacing the bulb in the housing rather than the whole part. Requires a small mod to the housing but it’s simple. Lots of videos on it around...
Bulb is a 12v 10w halogen, BA9S base, from memory... I use Flosser bulbs - they last well.

You can replace just the bulb but you might have to do a bit of grinding on the holder.

No cutting the back of the holder - just need a simple hot paperclip to make two small rivets in the reflector. I'll the video and post it - travelling for work right now...

It can be done from the reflector side by melting a passage for bulb like wpoll said. Or like on the found picture grinding or remelting with for example soldering iron the melted points on the sides of the base connector piece.
Or like many do just replace the whole thing with LED alternative for whiter colour.

Found the video...
https://youtu.be/GDApyupw_1Y?si=iBrx3P0dgc6wtWHU You can use a hot wire, a fine soldering iron or a 1mm drill bit to make the two small openings. The bulb needed goes by a few part numbers, depending on the vendor: - Osram - 64113 Flosser - 4010 Narva - 17833 Philip - 12024 ![]() Being a halogen lamp, you should either avoid touching the glass envelope at all (use a tissue to install them) or wipe them down with iso-propyl alcohol after installing them.
