Are you literally talking about the lenses that are in the fold down tailgate portion of the hatch? If so the only lights that come on for the US cars are the backup lights. I believe there is a mod that you can perform to get the rest of the light to illuminate as iirc in Europe they are used.

Yes! I didn’t realize it was backups only! I feel pretty stupid now Thanks for clarifying that for me!
