Getting Closer (DEAL DONE!)

Getting close now have finalise specs just trying to sort best deals from three BMW stealers one seems very keen for our business will match any offer!

If the deal is right hoping to get my X5 FOR 1ST July 2006

BMW X5 3.0D LE MANS BLUE SPORT EDITION 5Dr, Diesel, AUTO extras specked: BMW floor mats, Bi-Xenon Headlights BMW 6 CD changer, Comms Pack, Sun protection glass, Auto-Dim Int + Ext Mirror Light Beige-Exclusive Nappa Leather BMW 3 YR SERVICE PACK

Want to fit IPOD NANO can this be done can I drop the CD changer?

Also need DVD in rear for kids with TV in motion what’s my best non BMW option

My business partner has gone for

530d M Sport Saloon Carbon Black Grey Dakota Leather
Bi-Xenon Headlights (incl. H/Wash)
Bluetooth phone prep + telematics
Electric Glass Sunroof S0403
Navigation System Business

– I was tempted but just love the X5!

Richard

Drop the CD changer and get the Ice>link from Dension. Not sure what is availabel in Europe but here in US you can Invision and few other DVD screen headrests which match with OEM leather. You can also add the TV in motion module later.

We can assist in both your iPod needs and video in motion. Take a look at this thread:

Deal finally done with my local stealer it’s taken all week – with 3 different BMW main franchise dealers and 2 leasing companies all competing for our business.

We will order on Monday for delivery on or around 1st July 2006 – when we want the cars and our current vehicles go back to the leasing company, we negotiated 13% on the pretty loaded X5 Le Mans and 9% on the 530d m Sport - nearly £86k of kit in total so discounts very important. Final specs are as detailed above but without service packs - getting excited already!

Some questions for all you X5’s already!

What are the best options for carrying cycles on the roof? (Don’t want tow bar don’t want slung over back)

Will I need to fit a tracker?

What i-pod kit do I need to maintain functionality of the CD changer?

Can I connect the digital TV to rear DVD players?

Richard

I think the Ipod your BMW kit allows you to keep the CD changer but would strongly suggest the Dension Ice Link. When installing my Ice Link, I asked the guys to keep the CD changer incase I wanted to reconnect it. Haven't needed the changer once.

You mean connecting the TV to the rear monitors right? If so, then there shouldn't be a problem with that.

Oh yeah, WELCOME to X5World and congrats on your purchase. You'll love the X.

The iPod your BMW kit replaces the CD Changer as well. CD Changers are quickly becoming obsolete.

I was planning on this mod, but which mounting spot is better--the rear or up front?

Since all the control is performed via the steering wheel/radio - iPod location is strictly a convenience issue when connecting or removing the iPod from the vehicle for synchronization.

I prefer the glove box or center console location so I don't have to go to the cargo area when I need to grab my iPod.
