Finger is too big - the square part around the LED plays no part in the switch. The button cap is pressing on the very small plastic lever/tab attached to the contacts, sticking through the panel. It’s barely 1mm x 1mm.

To press the switch, you need a very small (jewellers) screwdriver or maybe a tiny Allen key etc.

Yes, I missed it to start with with my eyes (getting old). All sorted and everything is there that needs to be. Just need to get a new button and snap it in.

I bought a bunch of replacement buttons for mine and wife's car. They are usually about $12@ so if you can get a full set for a good unit price do it.
