Rear upper hatch switch button not working - tips?
Release button on hatch between license plate lights stopped working yesterday. Hatch open button under the AC panel and on the remote key work fine. Does this point to the hatch switch itself? Or are there any other things to check? I should mention that prior to this the rubber portion of the trunk switch has deteriorated and split where it flexes. I saw the 2 micrswitch buttons under the pad in good visual condition and pressed on them to verify they were working, before I put the rubber pad back on with double sided tape for a temporary repair. I found the Land Rover part that replaces the rubber boot and was about to order it but I think maybe the switch decided not to wait lol.

Yes, seems like a pblm with the rear hatch switch.
The whole assembly - switch and trim assembly comes out and can be repalced. Part# 51137170840 But pull it out and see if you can see a problem with the switch
