My list of issues are now fixed on my CPO'd 2002 X5 4.4i with 48k miles:
- DRIVER DOOR ACTUATOR replaced. FREE - SLIDING LOAD FLOOR rattle noise, finally fixed because they had to order parts. They replaced the Guide Rails and the Brackets. FREE - FRONT SWAY BAR LINKS knocking. They replaced the Swing Supports. FREE - 4 times in 2 months I turned the ignition key and just heard one "Click", then nothing. Had to remove the key and try again to start it. They Programmed the DME and cleared the Fault Memory. The Service Advisor called that a "Software Upgrade". FREE. All this work took a total of 2 trips to the dealer, got to drive a 2006 X3 loaner and a 2006 330 loaner for a day or two each. FREE. Morristown BMW (NJ) did a great job! Reasons like everything above are more proof to me that I will only buy CPO'd. I had a 2001 Mercedes CLK320 that was CPO'd as well. Never paid a dime for anything but the 10,000 mile service. Hope those fixes above help anyone trying to figure out similar issues with their X5.
