Like other posts have mentioned, we still have some of the cheapest gas in the world. If I am willing to pay two bucks for a cup of coffee, I am willing to pay 2.25 for a gallon of gas.

I agree....the problem is that the quantity in which you buy gas. You don't just buy a gallon of it, you buy 20 gallons of it....and it adds up really quickly

I realize that. Having said that, I still think it's a little ridiculous that we complain about $2 Dollar-a-gallon gas, but we pay $1.29 for a bottle of water or $2.00 for a cup of coffee. From my point of view, this is not about the quantity of the product (gas, coffee, water, ect.), but the price that we pay for that product. I am just trying to put things in perspective, I guess.

€128.00+ in Ireland to fill a diesel from empty

You good folk don't know y'all are living in the land of the free.
Welcome to the land of the terminally taxed, Ireland

That's why I've a 3.0 6cyl diesel on order, loaded to the gills with goodies.
218bhp, and same torque as big V8.
Expect delivery end of July.

Best wishes.

This is the part where I get to laugh because I drive a fuel efficient 330! According to my reciepts, when I filled up yesterday I paid $32 or so to fill the tank on premium.. When I was in Boston the other day the sign said like $2.67/gal and I was shocked! The really high prices haven't hit around here yet.

Yes, I actually just got back from a week-long vacation in London and I saw that one liter of petrol was 2.33 pounds! In that context, I really have no right to complaint...

Back to driving my 325i five times a week! Now I kind of regret getting the 4.4 instead of the more fuel efficient 3.0. How much does it cost to fill up a 3.0 liter X5?

$49 bucks...

Seriously, I have a 3.0, and I've gone over 50 dollars a couple of times...

Wouldn't it cost the same? They've got the same size fuel tank... You just have to fill up slightly more often with the V8.
