The Toyo Proxes are all seasons to boot...so you might be able to use it on light snow as well! A few people on the board have them and seem to be happy with it. At half the price, I would surely give them a try.

Try also http://www.blackcircles.com they can be cheaper as well depending upon the tyre size.
I have Bridgestone Turanzas on mine but haven't had anything different so couldn't say if they are better or worse. |

There is no catch, Michelin is an expensive tire that came OEM on an expensive vehicle.
Personally I always buy the OEM tire.

I used Toyo on previous vehicles and they seem to handle just as good as the OEM tires. There are some Toyos that are about the same price as OEM tires though, it is not fair that michelin charges more just because they seem to be an OEM item, personally I think michelin is not the greatest tire out there, but who knows.

I just had a thread about tires (http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ighlight=tires). One of the posts mentions the Toyos splitting on the inside of the tire. I've had Toyo's in the past without issue, but after reading that.....

was quoted $1250 for a set of staggered Diamaris from my local Michelin dealer for my 19" Sport rims, V-rated, mounted & balanced - 310 pounds @ sounds expensive

I have the Toyos and have had no problems in 6+ months with them. They're good in light snow, icy, and rain with great grip in the dry. I had a little difficulty with heavy snow (8 inches which had an icy base) but with caution was able to get around. I also have Toyos on my M3 and have found them to be comparable to my previous favorite tire, the Bridgestone Potenza S-03.
I've never been a fan of Michelins. They came stock on the M3 and they really sucked. I ditched them as quickly as possible.

they are not the best quality pics but you can see what i mean. these are from the 'better' of the 2 tyres taken off the rear, it still inflated but for how long your guess is as good as mine the worst was already binned by the time i got to the garage, it was shocking ! i checked both tyres for signs of impact damage and there was none, but for both to show signs of splitting that pretty much ruled that out. Not much wear, only 17k KM, no alighment problems from the wear ![]() total of 4 splits on the inside wall, this is 2 of them....... ![]() this is another......... ![]() 315's not in stock, but a pair of Continental CrossContact UHP back on the rears so at least i am back on the road ![]()
